The launch of Meta Quest 3 earlier this month has seen an abundance of mixed reality (MR) updates appear for Quest games. One game that already features MR capabilities is CoasterMania on App Lab. Recently, the rollercoaster building title received a new update further expanding its MR potential. In addition to a new Puzzle Mode, CoasterMania now utilises the Quest 3 Room Mesh to refine track placement.

Thirdverse Inc. released its VR hero shooter X8 as an Early Access title for Meta Quest and PCVR headsets in May. After a selection of updates and an eSports league run the title is finally ready for an official launch. This will take place next month the studio has now confirmed.

The year was 2016 and VR developers were grappling with locomotion in virtual worlds, trying not to make players nauseated. There were lots of innovative ideas at the time, one of which came from Turbo Button. The idea was to create a puzzle adventure entirely contained within an elevator, becoming Floor Plan in the process.
