In September Devsisters and Studio FreshDoh! announced their upcoming game CookieRun: The Darkest Night. Split into three chapters, the first is set to arrive later this month for Meta Quest headsets. This week, CookieRun pre-orders have gone live with a nice discount available.
Until 30th November, CookieRun: The Darkest Night can be pre-ordered for $21.99 USD. This is a 12 percent discount on its standard price of $24.99.
Cookie crumble
The episodic adventure puts you in the biscuity shoes of hero GingerBrave. As a small, freshly baked Cookie your journey starts with a daring escape from an oven. As a 15cm tall cookie, you enter the infamous witch’s castle battling enemies and connecting with fellow Cookies allies along the way.
There will be plenty of puzzles to solve and mini-games to complete as you try to escape the castle. Featuring 11 immersive environments inside the castle, these include the bakery, laboratory, forge, and Gnome Square. As for your fellow cookies, seven types will make an appearance like the Alchemist Cookie and Wizard Cookie. Plus you’ll also have three pet companions to help along the way. Furthermore, there are the various gnomes, jelly bears and other characters who can assist.
You might be small but you can pack a punch. Wield three melee weapons like a candy cane with four elemental variations for melee combat. Whilst three different slingshots with five elemental bullets provide ranged attacks.
CookieRun: The Darkest Night – Chapter 1 will be released on 30th November 2023. It’ll support Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest Pro. You can watch the new gameplay trailer here. The second and third chapters of the game are due for release in 2024.
