There’s been a few VR game delays of late, such as Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable and Bulletstorm VR. Just like the rail services in the UK, Something Different’s Toy Trains has also seen a slight delay. Not by much, however, with a new Toy Trains multiplatform launch now taking place in January.

Steam VR Fest to Return in December
During the course of 2023, there have been three Steam Next Fest’s. These are week-long events where you can demo new and upcoming titles, giving developers a chance to showcase and promote their projects. When it came to VR studios they also took part but in far smaller numbers. However, in December we get our own dedicated Steam VR Fest to enjoy.
SteamVR 2.0 is Officially Here
In September, Valve finally released details and an open beta for SteamVR 2.0. Years in the making, the beta has now concluded and now you can begin to enjoy the official 2.0 launch, with no beta unlocking faff.
DYSCHRONIA: Chronos Alternate – Dual Edition Coming to Steam in 2024
Japenese developer MyDearest Inc. is well known for its narrative-rich VR titles like Tokyo Chronos and ALTDEUS: Beyond Chronos. Its latest project with IzanagiGames, DYSCHRONIA: Chronos Alternate arrived for Meta Quest headsets in 2022. This was followed by versions for PSVR 2 and even a flatscreen edition for Nintendo Switch. This week, MyDearest Inc. has revealed DYSCHRONIA: Chronos Alternate – Dual Edition for Steam, playable with or without VR.
VR MMORPG Ilysia Could Finally Begin Early Access in October
Creating big open-world role-playing games is no easy task, especially where VR is concerned. The likes of Zenith: The Last City and OrbusVR: Reborn are just two examples currently on the market, with a third likely to arrive later this month. Team 21 Studio has been working on VR MMORPG, Ilysia for the past few years, announcing this week plans for an early access launch in October.
Digital Universe Resonite Explodes onto SteamVR Very Soon
We might talk about ‘metaverses’ in hushed tones after that particular buzzword lost its zeel, but there are still those imagining the possibilities. The likes of VRChat and Neos VR have dominated the space with a new contender set to arrive this week. Digital universe Resonite is set to launch this week on Steam Early Access, promising a platform with “infinite possibilities”.
Demeo Battles Demo Now Playable, Just Not in VR
With Steam Next Fest arriving in a few days there’s going to be a slew of exciting VR demos to play. Seemingly getting ahead of the pack, Resolution Games has already released a demo for its upcoming title Demeo Battles. However, even though the final game will be cross-platform compatible, the demo doesn’t support VR.
