Military shooter Alvo has been around for several years now. Originally a PSVR game before adding support for Meta Quest and then PSVR 2, Steam was the one platform always missing. For those PCVR players that have been awaiting its arrival, the wait is almost over. Alvo hits Steam next week.

Developer OutsideIn Entertainment confirmed on its Discord channel that Alvo‘s Steam release date is 12th February 2024. It will initially support Valve Index, Quest 2 & 3, PICO devices and Oculus Rift CV1 and Rift S. Notice one manufacturer missing? That’s because HTC Vive support will be added at a later date.

The Steam edition will feature crossplay support with the Quest and PSVR versions. Further improving the pool of players for the online-only matches. Additionally, PC gamers love their mods, with OutsideIn Entertainment noting that “The introduction of mod maps will soon be arriving to Alvo.”

Alvo is a dedicated online multiplayer with a ton of gameplay modes and guns to unlock. Free For All, Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy and even co-op Zombies provide different challenges. Trading ultra-realism for faster-paced gameplay, Alvo still looks and sounds fairly realistic.

Winning grants you XP which can be spent on a variety of customisation options. Weapon attachments, skins, perks, killstreaks, and even the UI colour theme if you so wish. Unlock even more XP by completing the daily and weekly challenges.

The customisation doesn’t stop there. Pro VR players can tweak settings like the gun offset, their HUD to show or hide visual information and the audio and comfort settings to get the VR experience they want while running, jumping, climbing, crouching, sliding, and going prone.
