One of XR Source’s most anticipated VR games of 2023 was UNIVRS’ Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable. A Meta Quest exclusive originally earmarked for release this past summer, the studio delayed the launch until Winter 2023. Unfortunately, the studio has delayed Attack on Titan VR pushing it into later 2024.

Vertigo Games has been ramping up its marketing efforts for Arizona Sunshine 2 ahead of its 7th December launch. As part of that campaign, the studio has released a selection of gameplay trailers and new details. The latest specifically focuses on the Meta Quest 2. And from what we’ve seen, Arizona Sunshine 2 on Quest 2 looks alright.

The ability to pre-order videogames has seemingly been around forever. The idea is that developers and publishers offer a tantalising cherry – a small discount or exclusive in-game merch, for example – to attract gamers while getting guaranteed sales before launch. We’ve all done it, my most recent being The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, while the standard videogame industry takes pre-orders to ever more ludicrous highs, VR is only just getting on the pre-order bandwagon.

MobX and Fast Travel Games released EVERSLAUGHT Invasion earlier this year for Meta Quest headsets. However, the response from the community was very mixed, with most finding the round-based waves lacked depth. The developer listened and has now released a new update for EVERSLAUGHT Invasion called ‘Resurgence’, hoping to do just that.

Mighty Eyes’ Wanderer was an enjoyable time-travelling adventure when it arrived in early 2022. Surprisingly, only a year after its release the studio announced Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate, a complete remake of the game. New visuals, interactions, physics and content would be added to the game for PSVR 2, Meta Quest and PCVR headsets. The launch won’t take place until 2024, but to highlight the work being done, check out these Wanderer comparison screenshots.

Ubisoft has been one of the biggest traditional videogame studios to support VR. Titles like Eagle Flight, Werewolves Within, and Star Trek Bridge Crew are all evidence of that. But it’s been a while since Ubisoft’s last VR game. Today, though, that changes dramatically as its flagship IP Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is out now for Meta Quest headsets.
