There are just over two weeks until Vertigo Games launches Arizona Sunshine 2. As excitement builds, the studio has released new details during a special showcase. Whilst there was a new single-player campaign playthrough, it was the Arizona Sunshine 2 co-op mode details that provided the most tantalising updates.

It was already known that Arizona Sunshine 2 would feature co-op functionality. Vertigo Games has now confirmed that the campaign will allow two players to team up together. The sequel: “adds a plethora of VR interactions and mechanics with which Arizona Sunshine 2 embraces freestyle co-op play more than ever before,” the studio notes.

Throwing more players into the mix is the Horde mode. Supporting up to four players, the mode will feature the same endless gameplay fans know and love. Plus, during the first year, three additional maps will be released. Details on those are still to come.

It’ll feature cross-platform compatibility between PSVR 2, Meta Quest and PCVR platforms. When it comes to Meta’s latest headset, the Quest 3, it’ll get a few specific enhancements. To start with, Quest 3 players will enjoy an upgraded resolution over Quest 2. Then in December, post-launch, Vertigo Games will release another upgrade, introducing real-time shadows on dynamic objects.

The showcase also offered up a better look at manual reloading, melee combat, and crafting. Plus it goes behind the scenes with lead voice actor Sky Soleil with a freestyle voice-acting session.
