Exciting Meta Quest 3 Games

Posted on: 26 Jul 2025

We’ve seen a stellar lineup of VR games grace Meta Quest headsets in recent months. From the recently released Zombie Army VR, through to The Smurfs – Flower Defense, Ghost Town and Crystal Commanders, there’s been no shortage of high-quality titles. Furthermore, XRSource thinks the best is yet to come. So here are the Meta Quest games you should be excited for.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City

Due to arrive in 2026, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City by Cortopia Studios and Beyond Frames Entertainment is set to bring those heroes in a half-shell to VR for the first time. Not much is known about the gameplay as we’ve only seen screenshots so far. What we do know is that the team’s arch nemesis, Shredder, is dead, but the Foot Clan is still very much a problem.

Players will be able to don the masks of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, or Michelangelo to fight the Foot Clan, utilising each Turtle’s signature weapon to deal justice. It’ll be set in the urban landscape the Turtles call home. And there will be parkour elements, so expect some physical gameplay.

Reach

The next big action game from VR veterans nDreams, Reach, puts you in the shoes of a reluctant hero who wields extraordinary abilities. From the same studio behind games like Fracked and Synapse, Reach promises to be the company’s “most ambitious title to date”, a single-player game where players can freely jump, climb, and zip-line across richly detailed environments.

Scheduled to arrive in 2025, supporting Meta Quest, PSVR 2, and PCVR headsets, Reach looks set to offer an exciting adventure later this year.

Unseen Diplomacy 2

For those after a far more stealth-like adventure, Triangular Pixels’ Unseen Diplomacy 2 offers its own unique experience. The first game was little more than an extended tech demo, showcasing roomscale gameplay and the ability to redirect the player in a limited play space.

Almost 10 years on, Unseen Diplomacy 2 takes this gameplay and scales it up. As an elite spy, players will have to physically walk, crawl, roll and sneak through the virtual environments. There’s no stick locomotion here – well, there is, as accessibility features are included – as players dodge enemies and utilise gadgets like wire cutters and disguises to fool the enemy.

Marvel’s Deadpool VR

Another big IP set to grace Meta Quest 3 & 3S is Marvel’s Deadpool VR. Being developed by Twist Pixel Games (Path of the Warrior, Wilson’s Heart) and Oculus Studios, the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ will have his own original VR adventure.

Serving up Deadpool’s trademark gun and sword combos, the gameplay is set to be every bit as intense as the films. While Ryan Reynolds will not be voicing the character this time around, Marvel’s Deadpool VR should still appeal to fans of this highly popular comic book hero.

Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow

The next big gaming franchise to land on VR headsets is going to be Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow. Coming to Meta Quest, PSVR 2 and PCVR headsets, Vertigo Games is bringing the pioneering stealth franchise into VR.

Built from the ground up for VR, in Thief VR, you take on the role of Magpie, a cunning thief. Exploring The City, you can home, you’ll have to evade patrols, and outmanoeuvre enemies whilst pickpocketing guards and bypassing locks, all designed around tactile VR interactions. Expected to launch late 2025, this could be the big holiday release for VR fans.

World War Z VR screenshot_1

World War Z VR

Time to eschew slow and steady for something far more manic. World War Z VR will be scrambling onto VR headsets on 12th August, delivering up to a reported 200 zombies on screen at any one time. An adaptation of the original flatscreen game built for VR, this was best known for its frantic co-op mode. However, the VR edition will only be single-player, so that the team at Saber Interactive Inc. could keep the zombie count high.

Even without co-op, World War Z VR looks set to deliver a premium zombie survival experience. With plenty of ravenous hordes to mow down with an assortment of weapons.

Crossings

From Neta Corp – the team behind Budget Cuts – comes a new roguelike adventure called Crossings. Inspired by Norse mythology, Crossings will take players on an epic journey into the afterlife.

A co-op roguelike where you fight Trolls, Draugr, Ghosts and other mythical beings using an array of blades, clubs, and axes. The unique twist is that there’s no voice chat. Encountering other players along the way, there’s no knowing if your compatriot is friend or foe, and likewise for them. Communicate through body language or face the quest alone; the feature provides an intriguing concept for 2025.

How to God

How to God

Offering a very different style of gameplay to the rest of the games on this list is How to God. A sandbox god simulation game, How to God gives players the chance to build and shape their own virtual world.

Filled with colourful characters, are you a benevolent deity or a vengeful god? Shape civilisations by building homes and shrines, nurture your own powerful creature to do your bidding, and fight rival gods to ensure success. There aren’t many god sim games in VR, so we like the idea of this.

Titan lsles screenshot 3

Titan Isles

Another co-op action game slated to arrive in 2025 is Titan Isles, from the team behind Windlands. Titan Isles is set on the ravaged world of Toska, a land shattered by the mysterious awakening of giant Titans.

Up to four players don one of four different Exo Suits, each providing its own unique traversal equipment and weapons. It promises free-flowing gameplay where players can tackle challenges how they see fit. They’ll be able to uncover the motivations and secrets behind the existence of the Titans.

Memoreum

Memoreum

Due for release this October and billed as Dead Space in VR, Memoreum is a single-player sci-fi horror. Awakening on a spaceship, you discover that the rest of the inhabitants have succumbed to the Ichor Infection, turning them into rabid monsters.

Utilising an arsenal of unique and powerful weapons, you know what you have to do: fight your way out. Scavenge for precious resources and try to survive each encounter, as a scrambled voice guides you through the darkness. This looks rather scary.
