For those of you who are big fans of roguelite games, Neta Corp has just unveiled its next title, Crossings. Inspired by Norse mythology, the latest game from the team behind Budget Cuts will take you on an epic adventure afterlife.

What is Crossings?
It’s a co-op roguelike where you fight and dodge Trolls, Draugr, Ghosts and other mythical beings using an array of blades, clubs, axes. Learn and cast spells using a gesture-based power system, unlock altar-born powers, and upgrade your weapons as you venture deep into an ever-changing landscape.
The game synopsis explains:
“You awaken cold and alone in a forgotten land—somewhere between death and memory.
“Though your body fell, your spirit fought free, and now you walk a shifting world shaped by ancient powers and broken fates. Crossings is a VR-first fantasy roguelite set in a Norse afterlife where the world itself reshapes with every run. Magically cross paths with other lost souls—no words, only movement, trust, and survival. Master deadly, physical combat where reading your enemies is key: block, dodge, strike, and unleash magic through careful timing and real-world movements. Face creatures old myths—trolls, draugr, dvärg, and those that linger at the edge of life and death. Choose your path through each run.
“Fight alone or stand side-by-side with others. Every crossing leaves a mark—and every choice carries the weight of the world you left behind.”

Launch Details
Currently listed on both the Horizon Store for Meta Quest and Steam for PCVR headsets, Crossings doesn’t have a release date just yet. However, you’ll be able to get your hands on a demo later this year, with Crossings featuring in Steam Next Fest from 14th to 21st October. Neat Corp says: “This demo features a single-player slice of the full game, with rich combat, spellcasting, and early progression.”
A Brief Neat History
Neat Corp has been quiet for a little while now, with the studio best known for its Budget Cuts franchise. The original Budget Cuts arrived in 2028, a VR stealth game with an innovative TransLocator gun to sneak around a robot-filled skyscraper.
This was expanded upon with 2019’s Budget Cuts 2: Mission Insolvency, adding new gameplay mechanics. A few years later, in 2023, the studio unveiled Budget Cuts Ultimate. This combined both games and all content updates into one neat package.
