No matter which VR headset you might own, it’s likely you’ve heard of prolific developer nDreams. The British VR veteran has released numerous high-quality titles over the past ten years, and its next project looks to be shaping up very well. As part of the recent Future Games Show, nDreams Elevation has unveiled Reach, a cinematic action-adventure game for major headsets.

What is Reach?

Dubbed the company’s “most ambitious title to date”, Reach aims “to push the boundaries” of VR gameplay. Building a richly detailed world, this single-player game features full-body immersion. As you’ll see in the trailer, players can freely jump, climb, and zip-line across immersive environments. It’s the kind of parkour-style gameplay we’re seeing more of in VR.

“We set out to create an action-adventure where players feel present, powerful, and fully in control of every action,” said Glenn Brace, Head of Studio, nDreams Elevation in a statement. “Our studio ethos has always been to push VR gameplay forward through rich physical engagement and player performance roleplay, and Reach is the sum of those efforts. We can’t wait for players to experience it for themselves.”

Adding extra weight to the announcement, Reach was introduced by ex-Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida.

“I’m thrilled to help introduce Reach to the world,” said Yoshida. “I’ve been a fan of nDreams’ work for many years, and after playing the game myself, I was blown away by the level of immersion, freedom, and creativity they’ve achieved. This debut title from the Elevation studio is a pioneering step forward for VR, and I can’t wait for players to experience it firsthand.”

Who are nDreams Elevation?

As mentioned, nDreams has been making games for years. Its back catalogue includes the likes of Vendetta Forever (2024), Synapse (2023), Fracked (2022), Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord (2023) and Phantom: Covert Ops (2020), to name just a few.

However, nDreams Elevation is an internal studio formed in 2022, with Reach as its first game. This all took place after Aonic invested $35 million in nDreams in 2022.

Reach Launch Details

Reach doesn’t have an official launch date just yet. It’s scheduled to arrive in 2025, supporting Meta Quest, PS VR2, and PC VR, and you can wishlist the game now.
