Whilst August tends to be a quiet month for VR games – tell that to Firewall Ultra and Crossfire: Sierra Squad – September usually sees things pick up. That certainly seems to be the case with 14 titles across all formats currently scheduled for release. Below you’ll find all the new VR games set to arrive this month.

Budget Cuts Ultimate
The stealth-action title returns with its ultimate edition for PCVR headsets. Already out for PSVR 2 and Meta Quest, Budget Cuts Ultimate features Budget Cuts 1 & 2 as well as all additional content.

TOSS!
TOSS! is a physical platformer where you’re a monkey trying to collect bananas across a multitude of jungle-gym playgrounds. The game features 75+ playgrounds across 9 vibrant cloudscape biomes, all filled with parkour-style action.

Yupitergrad 2: The Lost Station
Just like Budget Cuts, Yupitergrad 2: The Lost Station has already been released for several other platforms. This month sees the puzzle game swing onto PCVR headsets via Steam. Use grappling hooks to swing through a space station and try not to get killed by the whirling machinations of death.

Pixel Ripped 1995
Pixel Ripped 1995 is an oldie that was originally released back in 2020. Developer AVORE has now upgraded it for PSVR 2 so that retro gaming looks even better than ever.

Behind The Frame: The Finest Scenery VR
A ‘paint-and-click adventure game’ Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery VR is about an aspiring artist on the cusp of finishing her masterpiece. Solve painting puzzles and unlock past memories in this handcrafted VR experience.

Alvo
Alvo is an online-only multiplayer FPS, mixing realistic guns with plenty of action. Gameplay modes include Free For All, Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy and even co-op Zombies,

Down and Out
Released for PCVR headsets and Meta Rift in 2021, Zatun is bringing its open-world VR fighter game Down and Out to Quest 2 and PSVR 1 & 2. Fight your way through the dangerous city streets with nothing but your bare fists.

Gazzlers
A single-player, bullet hell wave shooter based entirely on a train. Gazzlers features a roguelike system where you try and get as far as possible without dying, collecting scrap along the way. This can then be used to upgrade and head out onto the rails once more.

Crimen – Mercenary Tales
Crimen – Mercenary Tales is an action-packed hack-n-slash through eight swashbucklin’ tales. Heading out onto the high seas, players fight their way through eerie castles, ancient temples and forsaken shipwrecks as they hunt for riches!

Broken Edge
From Fast Travel Games and developer TREBUCHET, Broken Edge is a multiplayer VR sword fighting game. You can take on the role of one of nine fighters and challenge opponents to duels in dream-like landscapes utilising diverse melee weapons, and distinctive martial art playstyles.

Ruinsmagus: Complete
Ruinsmagus: Complete is a VR JRPG Ruinsmagus guild member, tasked with exploring the ruins beneath the city of Grand Amnis. Featuring over 25 story-driven quests, solve deadly puzzles and fight guardians lurking inside.

Hellsweeper VR
From Mixed Realms, the developer behind Sairento VR: Untethered comes another action-paced title, Hellsweeper VR. As a Hellsweeper, your one and only task is to purge the underworld of its rampant demons with an arsenal of weaponry, magical abilities and limitless movement capabilities.

Paper Beast Enhanced Edition
The delightfully surreal puzzle game Paper Beast is finally coming to PSVR 2. I Expect You To Die 3: Cog in the Machine
It’s almost time for PCVR players to take on the evil Dr.Zor once again in the third instalment of this escape room series. I Expect You To Die 3: Cog in the Machine blends puzzle-solving and comedic narrative, where players use telekinetic abilities to solve the puzzles and get themselves out of deadly traps.

Islanders: VR Edition
A casual city-building game from Coatsink, Islanders: VR Edition is all about creating beautiful, bustling towns only endless, procedurally generated islands.

Border Bots VR
Border Bots VR is a light-hearted simulation puzzle game from indie UK studio Paw Print Games. NFL Pro Era II
The second official NFL game in VR, NFL Pro Era II features a new head-to-head multiplayer mode, for online exhibition matches. The career mode returns, where over multiple seasons players try to win as many Super Bowls as possible.

System Critical 2
A follow-up to System Critical: The Race Against Time, System Critical 2 is described as a “retro-style run and gun platformer shooter” that will: “keep you on your toes for hours.”
