Firewall Ultra Out Now for PSVR 2

While most of the summer has been fairly quiet for PSVR 2 it’s set to end the season with a bang! Next week sees the arrival of Crossfire: Sierra Squad but today it’s time to get ready for Firewall Ultra. The next instalment of First Contact Entertainment’s tactical shooter, the highly anticipated exclusive is Firewall Ultra out now for PSVR 2.

One of XR Source’s Most Anticipated VR Games of 2023, Firewall Ultra is a team-based first-person shooter (FPS). All the matches feature eight players – 4 vs 4 – just like Firewall Zero Hour. However, now there’s a new best-of-three round-based player-versus-player (PvP) format. This has been designed to ensure minimal waiting times and more time actually playing the game.

Elements of the original game remain, says First Contact Entertainment. Like the primary PvP game mode ‘Contracts’, where one team has to defend a key laptop full of classified information. The other team are the attackers, using any means necessary to decrypt the intel before the timer runs out.

Firewall Zero Hour servers, skills, contractors, maps and weapons have all been added and improved in Firewall Ultra also.

Naturally, there’s plenty of next-gen goodness in there too. For example, the game will feature a brand-new player-versus-environment (PvE) game mode. Tackled either solo or with teammates, you take on dangerous AI opponents across all of Firewall Ultra’s maps.

All of these will look even better thanks to PSVR 2’s 4K HDR display. The realism has been turned up a notch thanks to other features as well. Using PSVR 2’s eye tracking you’ll be able to close your eyes to avoid the effects of a flashbang. Or how about swapping weapons just by looking at them! Then there are the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers that provide realistic weapon feedback.

The standard edition of Firewall Ultra is $39.99 USD or there is the Digital Deluxe Edition for $59.99. The latter unlocks four of the game’s contractors (Meiko, Skip, Fang, and Node) as well as alternate outfits for each contractor. You’ll also get four weapon camos and access one post-launch Operation Pass.
