One of XR Source’s most anticipated VR games of 2023 is Schell Games’ I Expect You To Die 3. Putting you in the shoes of a secret agent, the series perfectly blends puzzle-solving and comedic narrative. And soon the third instalment will arrive. The studio has confirmed separate I Expect You To Die 3 launch dates for Meta Quest and SteamVR.

Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro will be the first VR headsets to get I Expect You To Die 3: Cog in the Machine. The launch takes place on 17th August. Whilst the SteamVR release for PCVR headsets will be held a month later on 28th September.

I expect you to die…again

Once again the series will continue what it is great at. Players will be dropped into a world of complex puzzles, with action-packed locations filled with weird gadgets. They’ll have to utilise telekinetic abilities to solve the puzzles and get themselves out of deadly traps.

The mysterious and villainous Dr. Zor is still trying to take over the world. However, this time they’re joined by Dr. Roxana Prism. Prism is a “scientist and former Agency inventor, [who] believes she can create a better agent, one that’s superior to humans.” Players not only have this new mastermind to deal with but also her sidekick Robutler and her various robot agents. So there’s plenty to get on with.

I Expect You To Die 3: Cog in the Machine plays out over six complicated missions. Agents will be able to dabble in their own undercover style with an array of Agency-approved attire. Hats, watches, and gloves can all be customised before each top-secret mission.

You can pre-order the game now on the Meta Quest Store for $24.99 USD with a 10% discount. Or you can wishlist the game on Steam.
