Easels at the ready!
While games like Vermillion are designed to simulate real-life painting in VR, Behind the Frame takes a different approach. With aesthetics inspired by Studio Ghibli visuals, the game puts you in the shoes of Amber. She’s an artist who is trying to complete her masterpiece.
“Behind the Frame: VR is about an aspiring artist on the cusp of finishing the final piece of her gallery submission. Guide her brush strokes and solve a variety of puzzles to help complete her masterpiece; amid her brusque neighbor’s gaze and his pesky cat. As her painting starts to take shape, uncover an emotional tale of chance and artistry revealed behind unrelated yet familiar moments,” explains the official synopsis from Akupara Games.
This entails painting, sketching, and retouching your artwork to complete the masterpiece. You’ll have to solve puzzles and relive past memories. You’ll also have to remember to take breaks and have a coffee or two to keep those spirits alive. It is a relaxing experience that you can enjoy at any pace. Behind the Frame: VR combines beautiful hand-animated visuals and a smooth, easy-listening soundtrack.
The Behind the Frame VR launch takes place in a couple of weeks. Like the look of the game? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
