It seems as though TV shows being made into VR games is becoming a major thing. From Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom to the more recent Stranger Things VR and Survivorman VR: The Descent, shows are starting to appear more regularly. Next up is the long-running CBS franchise Survivor. But this won’t be getting its own standalone title. Instead, Survivor: Horizon Island is coming to Meta Horizon Worlds.
Meta, CBS, Albyon, VR in Review, and Well Played Studios have created a custom Survivor world inside the VR metaverse. Fans of the show know that it is all about completing challenges, forming alliances and uncovering hidden immunity idols. All of which will feature in this VR recreation.
Not only will players get to enjoy iconic challenges for the show, but they’ll also notice a familiar voice. Host and executive producer, Jeff Probst, will be there to offer his usual words of encouragement.

Survivor: Horizon Island on Quest
The launch of Survivor: Horizon Island coincides with the 46th season of the TV show, which kicks off today.
If you decide to take part, you will have the option to join a tribe, team up with other users or fly solo. There will be a selection of physical and mental Survivor challenges. The last person standing at the final Tribal Council will earn points toward the Sole Survivor leaderboard. Players can also play again to climb the ranks of the “Most Survivor World Days Completed” leaderboard to show the world their dedication.
Survivor: Horizon Island will be available via Meta Horizon Worlds from 8th March 2024. You’ll need a Meta Quest headset, of course, as well as being in one of the select countries the social world is available in.
You can see the game in action here. Will you be joining the other survivors next week? Let us know in the comments.
