After a couple of delays towards the end of 2023, Ikimasho eventually released Tiger Blade for PSVR 2. An adrenaline-filled combat title, the studio recently announced that a Meta Quest version of Tiger Blade is in the works. And it’s not far from launch, supposedly.

In a posting via X (formerly Twitter), the studio says: “Tiger Blade will be coming to the Meta Quest 2 & 3 VERY SOON! (We’re talking Q1 2024 SOON).” Which is great news, but slightly contradictory to the Quest Store. Currently, the store lists Tiger Blade’s release for ‘Winter 2024’. So Ikimasho is working to a much shorter time frame it seems.

Ikimasho has yet to give any further details regarding the Quest port of Tiger Blade. It’s listed for all three Quest headsets but there’s no indication so far if there will be any notable differences. Whether that’s graphical changes from the PSVR 2 version or whether the Quest 3 release will boast improvements over Quest 2. Games like Asgard’s Wrath 2 have utilised Quest 3’s more powerful XR2 Gen 2 processor to roll out post-launch graphical updates.

Tiger Blade is a single-player game based on Korean neo-noir action cinema. “Set in an alternate Korea, you take the role of the deadliest assassin working for the Horangi chapter of the Tiger Clans. Ordered to steal a mysterious package from a rival chapter, you are shocked to find the object of the heist is, in fact, a tiger cub – thought extinct for a hundred years, the mythical creature is now desired by every gang in the city.”

What that means is lots of running and gunning through tight winding streets and warehouses. Use katanas to slice foes up (or block bullets) then switch to your guns to pop some heads. The action is non-stop and comes with a scoring and ranking system, online leaderboards, speedrunning, and secondary objectives.
