Remember last year’s Bulletstorm VR? A game so broken that People Can Fly put out a statement saying that they were ‘triaging’ the issues. Well, apparently that experience hasn’t dampened the partnership’s VR enthusiasm. A new title – TRACKED: Shoot to Survive – has been announced for release later this year.

TRACKED: Shoot to Survive Announcement
TRACKED: Shoot to Survive is a single-player, action-adventure survival dedicated for VR. According to People Can Fly, TRACKED: Shoot to Survive aims to deliver one of the ‘most intense VR experiences’ in the action-adventure genre. This will be through the combining of ‘immersive systems with a thrilling storyline’. Exactly how this will play out is obviously not yet known. But what we do have a few gameplay details mixed in with a lot of hyperbole.
Your survival depends entirely on your actions as you make your way through the harsh Canadian tundra. The game features all the gesture-based mechanics you’d expect for a game subtitled ‘shoot to survive’, with different firearms and manual reloading. Or, you could try to go deadly and silent with compound bows. The game is promising a great deal of exploration, as you’ll be able to climb to get a better view of your surroundings and ‘explore freely’ to find your own path.
You’ll take on the role of Alex Hart, travelling into the Canadian wilderness with his sister to honor their late father. What begins as a sentimental journey quickly turns into a nightmare when their plane is shot down by local smugglers. From that moment on, the northern forests become a deadly trap, where every step could be the last one. To survive and rescue Alex’s sister, you’ll have to fight your way through the wilderness. Anyone else getting Far Cry vibes here?
Who are Incuvo and People Can Fly?
Development studio Incuvo has some VR pedigree as the team behind titles such as Green Hell VR and the aforementioned Bulletstorm VR. As with that latter title, TRACKED: Shoot to Survive will launch with publishing support from People Can Fly.
“We’ve been creating VR games for years, and with TRACKED we wanted to deliver something beyond our previous projects – something that truly pushes players to the edge. We want them to feel a constant sense of danger and responsibility for their choices – and virtual reality, especially Meta Quest, is the perfect platform when you’re aiming for this level of immersion. We’ve built something genuinely engaging, where gamers can really feel the thrill of survival – and we just can’t wait for them to jump into the wilderness,” said Andrzej Wychowaniec, CEO Incuvo.

TRACKED: Shoot to Survive Launch Plans
The title is currently in development and is scheduled to debut on Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S in autumn 2025. You can watch the debut trailer for the game here.
There are no other formats confirmed. So yes, that does look like Meta Quest 2 players are being left out in the cold. Or lost in the woods, as it were.
