The Quest Gaming Showcase was littered with some fantastic videogame announcements, one of which came from People Can Fly and Incuvo. They revealed the action-packed Bulletstorm VR, remaking the original flatscreen version for VR headsets. Today the wait is over as Bulletstorm VR hits Meta Quest 3 & 2, PSVR 2 and PCVR headsets.
If you’ve played the original then you’ll be familiar with the narrative. You step into the shoes of Grayson Hunt: “an exiled member of the elite assassin group Dead Echo. Grayson’s blind desire for vengeance gets him stranded on the hostile world of Stygia, where he confronts the commander behind his betrayal—or gets his team off the planet alive.”

Hell in a Bulletstorm teacup
Bulletstorm was designed as a brutal first-person shooter (FPS) where players tackle hordes of small enemies all the way up to colossal giants. However, it isn’t the size of the monsters that makes the game unique, it’s how you deal with them.
The combat system rewards you for performing creative and deadly kills and that feature remains. You need to get creative with your carnage, using power kicks, slides, charged shots, explosives, and your environment to execute Skillshots. And let’s not forget about the iconic Energy Leash which could be even more fun in VR! Combine this with an arsenal of weapons and you’ve got yourself an intense single-player adventure.
Combos are key to surviving Stygia, as the more you pull off the more rewards you’ll get. Unlock new weapons, charge shots, ammo capacity and more to turn every hostile encounter to your benefit.
Bulletstorm VR is available today as it hits the PlayStation Store, Meta Quest Store and Steam.
