It’s surprising to think that not only has Waltz of the Wizard been entertaining VR fans for over six years, but that it’s still being updated. Developer Aldin has made a double announcement this week. Not only does it have new content planned for this fall, but Waltz of the Wizard is coming to iOS devices, too.

Waltz of the Wizard on iOS
For the first time, the comical wizarding game is coming to mobile devices. Waltz of the Wizard is being made available on iOS smartphones and tablets this fall. It’ll feature the entire game experience as well as brand-new features, a reimagined interface, and natural touch controls designed specifically for mobile.
One of those new features is the mobile-exclusive “Reality Mode”. This will allow users to interact with objects and the game’s popular sidekick, Skully, in AR.
Skully’s Fantastic Fails update
In addition to the iPhone and iPad rollout, the Skully’s Fantastic Fails update will arrive on the same day for all supported platforms.
The update will allow players to explore the Courtyard with Skully for the first time. Skully will have hundreds of new reactions and voicelines to grace players with, and experiment with a new rocket launch section with explosive results. Furthermore, the update will also feature a range of new character reactions in the Tower, and a fully redesigned menu. A detailed in-game Waltz Codex is now filled with new activities and hidden interactions information to discover.
A Brief History of Waltz of the Wizard
As mentioned, Waltz of the Wizard has a long history in VR. It was originally released in 2019 for PCVR headsets, before additional ports brought it to Meta Quest, PSVR/PSVR 2, PS5 and Steam Deck. It’s a veteran of the VR space, often compared alongside the likes of Job Simulator and Beat Saber as a ‘must-play’ title.
And thanks to Aldin’s continual support, Waltz of the Wizard quite often features the latest advancements in VR. For example, it was on of the first games to officially support hand tracking on Quest.
