Slender: The Arrival VR Confirmed for PSVR 2 & PCVR in September

We’re being treated to all sorts of horror games this year. You’ve got MADiSON VR, HappyFunland and now Slender: The Arrival VR has a launch date. Teased a couple of months ago, Slender: The Arrival VR will be coming to PSVR 2 and SteamVR this September.

There are still a lot of unknowns regarding Slender: The Arrival VR. It’ll be a VR adaption of the original 2013 flatscreen edition that’s for sure. Perp Games has confirmed the VR edition will utilise Slender: The Arrival’s 10th anniversary update from last year. This added a brand-new chapter called ‘Nightmare’, more language options and a visual overhaul. A comparison of which you can see below.

What’s unclear is if the VR edition will be its own separate game or offer an update or add-on for existing flatscreen owners.

Slender: The Arrival VR comparison

A Slender chance of survival

Slender: The Arrival was a re-imagining and expansion of 2012’s Slender: The Eight Pages, a short experimental project. That was all about collecting eight pages scattered around a dark forest while avoiding the Slender Man. Expanding upon this premise, Slender: The Arrival adds protagonist Lauren, who is searching for her missing friend Kate.

To mark the new announcement, Perp Games has released a new trailer. However, being the teaser that it is, it doesn’t show much gameplay. It looks like a clip from the flatscreen version, in fact. We’ve yet to see what VR editions to the game have been made, including weilding the torch, inventory and and general interactive mechanics.

Slender: The Arrival VR is slated to arrive for PSVR 2 and PCVR headsets on 13th September 2024.
