Owlchemy Labs is Bringing its Two Most Popular Games to Apple Vision Pro

Apple has made it abundantly clear that its new $3500 headset, the Vision Pro isn’t designed as a gaming device. But that hasn’t stopped VR developers from porting their games across. The latest to announce plans to do so is Owlchemy Labs. Its VR games Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator are coming soon to Apple Vision Pro.

Owlchemy Labs is a subsidiary of Google, which bought the studio a few years ago. Job Simulator is undoubtedly its biggest title, still regularly appearing on PSVR/PSVR 2’s download charts. While Vacation Simulator was the follow-up, taking players to sunkissed beaches and snowy mountain tops.

Interestingly, while Vacation Simulator already has hand tracking built-in on Meta Quest – making it an ideal port to Vision Pro – Job Simulator does not. So we’ll be seeing hand tracking finally arrive for the 2016 game.

“We’re excited to see Apple enter the XR market and introduce the platform to more consumers,” said Andrew Eiche, CEOwl at Owlchemy Labs in a statement. “We are committed to bringing Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator to every headset. Our games are built to be enjoyed by players from all walks of life, regardless of their familiarity with VR. Bringing Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator to Vision Pro is an opportunity to show how VR gaming can be accessible, making an ideal experience for folks picking up a headset for the first time.”

Job Simulator is a fun, easy game for VR newbies. Originally titled Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives, its premise was simple, in the future all jobs are now undertaken by robots. With humans unaware of what jobs actually entailed they can now ‘job’ by way of a simulator. So in Job Simulator can try your hand at being an office worker, chef or mechanic.

While Vacation Simulator takes you to “Vacation Island” where the robots discover the true meaning of “time off.” It’s an activity-rich destination where you can head to the beach and cook some burgers or head into the mountains for a snowball fight or two.

Both titles will include their respective free content updates. Job Simulator will be available on the Vision Pro App Store for $19.99 USD and Vacation Simulator for $29.99 USD.

These will be joining the likes of Synth Riders and Tiny Archers on the new headset.

We’re likely to see more VR games hit Apple Vision Pro soon, which titles are on your wishlist?
