Bulletstorm VR Release Date Announced

People Can Fly and Incuvo have revealed the release date for Bulletstorm VR, set to launch this December. Coming to PSVR 2, Meta Quest 2 and SteamVR, the game will be priced at $39.99 USD. Pre-orders are available now on PSVR 2 and Meta Quest, with an exclusive time-limited discount of 10%.

Bulletstorm VR puts players in the ass-kicking boots of former Dead Echo Squad Leader, Grayson Hunt. Hunt crashes on the abandoned resort planet of Stygia. Here, he is forced to battle his way across the planet to take out the corrupt General Sarrano. Bulletstorm VR isn’t your run-of-the-mill FPS, however. The game is most certainly on the lighter side, billed as ‘comically ultraviolent’ by developers People Can Fly.

Bulletstorm VR is based on 2011’s Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 action game, later re-released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. More than a decade after the original release, players can get into some whacky murdering in VR for the first time.

Bulletstorm VR Gameplay

In the game, players can utilise everything from your Flailgun to Bulletstorm’s iconic energy leash to perform creative acts of carnage on your enemies. You can effortlessly switch between melee and ranged combat to perform Skillshots. These special kills will earn additional experience and boost your abilities. What’s more, Bulletstorm VR will include dual weilding, so a vast array of unique Skillshots are possible. These range from kicking an enemy into a cactus, to impaling them on rebar, to shooting them in the groin. In Bulletstorm VR everything is a weapon. You’re encouraged to get as creative as possible when racking up your kill count.

Bulletstorm is one of our most treasured properties and it’s continued to delight people over a dozen years since its initial release,” said Bartosz Kmita, Chief Creative Director of People Can Fly. “Bulletstorm VR offers the definitive way to experience the game with fully immersive presentation and motion-controls to make you feel like the ultimate badass space pirate!”

“We are big fans of Bulletstorm, and have long dreamt of how great leashing Skulls and shooting Creeps would feel in VR, so this is a perfect match for our VR expertise,” said Radomir Kucharski, Vice-President of the Management Board responsible for Products at Incuvo.

The Bulletstorm VR release date has been set for 14th December, 2023. As stated above, you can pre-order now for a discount. Are you excited to get into some VR ass-kicking on Stygia? Let us know in the comments below!
