It’s not an official launch on the Quest Store, however, with the release only available via App Lab.

Can you play Roblox VR on Oculus Quest 1?

No, unfortunately, Roblox doesn’t support the original Quest 1. Like many titles, it can’t provide a good enough experience on the ageing hardware. There is a growing roster of games dropping Quest 1 support, most recently it was Pistol Whip.

How can I find Roblox on Quest?

Like most App Lab games and apps, there are a couple of ways to locate titles. Firstly, you can follow this Roblox URL to its store location. Or you can search for the name and find the small App Lab link at the bottom of the search results. Thirdly, you can use a third-party platform like SideQuest to locate the title. If you want to learn more about the wonderful world of App Lab, XR Source created a ‘Play App Lab Games‘ how-to piece for easy reference.

It’ll be interesting to see how well the Quest community embraces Roblox at this early stage. Not all the creator-built worlds are going to work hence the reason for the open beta. Another point to mention is the current user base. Roblox may tout that it has 66 million daily users and 200 million monthly users, however, reportedly 45% of them are under 13. That’s below Meta’s minimum recommended age for Quest – although the Meta VR age restriction is lowering – which may put off more seasoned VR fans.
