Coatsink has announced that their next VR title, Skytail, will be coming to Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 3S and Meta Quest Pro next week. The studio brings many years of experience working in VR titles like Men In Black: Most Wanted, Jurassic World: Aftermath, Esper and more to this new release, which has been relatively understated in the run up to launch.

What is Skytail?
In Skytail, you take to the skies on the back of a legendary birdlike companion. You’ll use telekinetic powers to defeat the beasts trying to hinder you and your friend’s rescue mission.
You begin the game living among the clouds with your birdlike buddy, known as Skytail. However, your idyllic life is shattered when corrupted fiends steal your Skytail’s offspring. Together, you must set off on an adventure to save them. You’ll harness the telekinetic powers of the ancients to defend yourself and bring the youngsters home safely.
Gameplay Built for VR
The game’s core loop revolves around wielding a wide range of telekinetic abilities. Of course, these actions are performed with gesture-based controls. You can crush your foes, tear them apart, or charge them up and hurl them at their comrades for devastating impact. But it’s not all about aggression. You’ll also need to defend yourself from incoming projectiles. Charge up your special ability and be sure to read the situation quickly.
Despite the colourful visuals, you should expect a challenge. The game is designed in a way that it’s not only fun to play with your roster of powers, but also a necessity to take out the foes that face you and stay alive. Though we haven’t yet played the game, we’re getting Panzer Dragoon style vibes from the gameplay. It won’t be long until we find out if those expectations are true.

Skytail Meta Quest Launch
Skytail is now officially confirmed for launch on Meta Quest on 26th March, 2026. That’s a date that seems pretty hectic, as The Boys: Trigger Warning was also recently confirmed for this date. Coatsink however, seem quietly confident.
“We are delighted to reveal that Skytail is coming to Meta Quest platforms on March 26th,” said Coatsink CEO, Richard Snowdon. “We’ve created a charming world for players to explore and a bunch of fun powers that really make the most of VR. Throwing monsters around is instantly satisfying and that only builds as you learn to deal with the chaos of blocking incoming projectiles, tearing things apart and dealing with everything else coming at you!”
