Hot on the heels of the well received Men In Black: Most Wanted, Coatsink announced their next VR game. Skytail is, as the name might suggest, a game about flying. It combines aerial exploration with gesture-based telekinetic interaction in a fantasy setting above the clouds, and is coming to Meta Quest headsets.

What is Skytail? A VR Adventure in the Clouds
Skytail takes you to a world where you live alongside a large, bird-like companion creature known as Skytail. Your peaceful life among floating islands and boundless skies can’t last forever, though. It all comes crashing down when corrupted fiends abduct the offspring of Skytail. The core objective of Skytail is to use unique telekinetic abilities to confront hostile creatures, navigate the environment, and work toward reuniting with your companion’s lost young.
In the screenshots on this page you can see how the game world exists atop floating terrain. Structures and vegetation are hanging in suspension, hinting at a world built around high-altitude gameplay. This design may be leveraged to create a sense of scale that feels distinct from traditional ground-based VR experiences.
Skytail’s Telekinetic Powers and Gesture Controls
Specific gameplay details remain limited at this stage, but we know that you’ll be interacting directly with the environment and enemies using hand-based gestures. These interactions include hurling objects at foes, crushing adversaries, or charging them before releasing an attack, all performed through natural hand movements rather than traditional button presses.
Release Window and Platform Information
Skytail is confirmed for development on both Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3. And of course, that includes Meta Quest 3S. As of the latest announcement, no specific release date has been provided beyond the general indication of a future launch. Additional details about launch timing, pricing, or potential demos have not yet been shared by Coatsink.

Coatsink’s VR Works
Coatsink is a UK-based developer and publisher with a good track record of releasing VR titles across platforms. Prior VR projects from the studio include Jurassic World Aftermath and Shadow Point, demonstrating experience with both narrative and interactive virtual environments.
With Skytail, Coatsink appears to be exploring a blend of telekinetic action and aerial exploration that could expand its VR portfolio into new thematic territory. Further details are expected as development progresses and additional media or gameplay insights are released. Are you interested in picking up Skytail when is launches on Meta Quest?
