Adding to the list of recent VR reveals from GoGame Console Publisher, Border Police VR: Contraband Simulator 2026 is a forthcoming VR simulation title slated for release on PSVR2 later this year. The game places you in the role of a border security officer tasked with managing inspections and enforcing border regulations.

Border Police VR: Contraband Simulator 2026 Gameplay
In the game, you’ll assume a first-person perspective as you patrol checkpoints and monitor suspicious activities. Each scenario requires tactical judgement. Vehicle inspections, surveillance, and high-tension encounters with smugglers are core components of the experience. The outcomes are shaped by how effectively you manage conflicting objectives.
The game emphasises the strategic nature of gameplay: choices made during patrols and inspections influence subsequent encounters. This results in a gameplay loop built around consequence-driven simulation rather than purely action-oriented sequences.
The VR implementation sees you directly interacting with tools. Patrol vehicles and equipment perform in a way that reflects real-world border security practices. You’ll use surveillance devices and inspection procedures to detect contraband and potential threats.
Border Control Simulators are a Growing Trend
Since the debut of Papers, Please way back in 2014, the border control simulation genre has grown in prominence. There have been many different styles used in the genre, including the likes of Border Bots and I Am Security in VR. More recently in flatscreen gaming, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check has raised to prominence by offering a new, social media friendly take on the genre.
The upcoming VR Border Patrol title is the continuation of a series of border control simulation games from GoGame Console Publisher, which include flatscreen editions on Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Previous Editions of Border Police: Contraband Simulator
While the title shares thematic elements with other border control simulators on non-VR platforms, Border Police VR: Contraband Simulator 2026 is not a direct port of any previously released work. Instead, it represents a VR-specific expansion of simulation mechanics into immersive territory.
The flatscreen editions of the series have received decidedly mixed reviews. The 2024 PlayStation 4 release in particular was not well received by gamers, as such we’re very much in a ‘wait and see’ scenario with the VR edition.

Border Police VR: Contraband Simulator 2026 Launch Plans
As stated above, Border Police VR: Contraband Simulator 2026 is part of a series of new titles revealed for PSVR2 by GoGame Console Publisher. Alongside MFC VR – Midnight Fight Club and BMX City Run VR, the company now has three titles scheduled to launch on the platform in 2026.
No specific release date has yet been announced for the game. Are you interested in getting some border patrol action in your VR gaming? Let us know in the comments below!
