Triangle Factory, the folks behind Breachers and Hyper Dash, launched the massive online multiplayer Forefront as a Meta Quest Early Access title last November. In that time, it’s become a top seller on the platform, likely helping towards this week’s announcement. And that’s the upcoming arrival of Forefront for PSVR 2.

The studio hasn’t released much in the way of details. Delivering the announcement by way of its X/Twitter account, the team simply said: “Forefront is officially coming to PlayStation VR2! No release date just yet, but you can WISHLIST NOW!”

Not much to go on, granted, but for PSVR 2 owners, it’s great to see a game of Forefront’s calibre coming to the platform. Forefront is currently available for Meta Quest, PCVR headsets on Steam and PICO devices. With cross-platform support to fill its large-scale battles, we’d expect that feature for PSVR 2, further expanding the player base.

What is Forefront?

If you’ve not heard of Forefront, the game is far more akin to Battlefield than Breachers. Offering 32-player matches (16v16) in teams of four, this is an all-out war experience. Set in expansive, semi-destructive environments, players select from Assault, Engineer, Medic, or Sniper classes, each with specialised weapons and gadgets. They’ll also have access to a range of land, sea and air vehicles, creating highly dynamic battles.

Since the Early Access launch, a bunch of news updates have expanded the vehicle selection with an Apache attack helicopter and an anti-air tank. Mines and claymores have been added, alongside sniper rifles, and more.

A Busy 2026 for Triangle Factory

As the above image clearly highlights, Triangle Factory plans on releasing Forefront for PSVR 2 later in 2026. Considering the studio previously said that a full 1.0 launch is planned for Quest and SteamVR in 2026, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to consider a simultaneous release across all platforms.

That would be a big boon for current players and new PSVR 2 players alike. Whether that’ll happen is another matter entirely. What is certain is that Triangle Factory has a busy year ahead as it continues to roll out new updates.
