The PSVR 2 and Meta Quest 3 headsets provide some fantastic opportunities for stealth-based games. Immersive VR with high quality graphics, mixed reality (MR) passthrough, and performance make them especially good for atmospheric sneaky games. If you’re someone who loves hiding in shadows, creeping around patrols, using tricks and gadgets rather than brute force, here are the best stealth games to play on Meta Quest 3 or PSVR 2.

Espire 2

Espire 2 is probably one of the strongest pure stealth‑action titles on Meta Quest 3. It combines classic stealth mechanics (sneaking, hiding, disabling guards, gadgets) with modern VR features. The MR Missions Update added mixed reality modes that let you use your real room layout via passthrough cameras to sneak around or hide behind furniture etc.

On Meta Quest 3 you also get performance and visual improvements (better lighting, textures etc.) which help immersion – spotting shadows, shapes, guard patrol routes are more believable.

A more narrative/adventure‑stealth hybrid, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR lets you take on the roles of Ezio, Connor, Kassandra in full Assassin’s Creed style. Climbing, parkour, blending in crowds, using hidden blades etc. Stealth is one of many tools rather than the only tool. If you like big open environments with multiple approaches to missions (stealth, combat, distraction), this is excellent.

If you like long‑range, patient stealth, this one’s good. Sniper Elite VR: Winter Warrior is built around sniping, infiltration, avoiding detection, and taking out enemies from a distance. There are also “cat‑and‑mouse” elements (e.g. Sniper Hunt mode) and modes where you have to survive waves (Last Stand) which may be less pure stealth but still preserve stealth tension.

It’s fair to say that at launch Sniper Elite VR: Winter Warrior had some issues. However, UK studio Rebellion are obviously keen supporters of VR, and have since managed to fix many of the misgivings with the game.

The predecessor to Espire 2, Espire 1: VR Operative has lots of stealth content, though with slightly more limited mechanics compared to its sequel. It still shines for people wanting sneaky action: hiding, avoiding or taking out guards, using gadgets etc. If you liked Espire 2, this is a solid supplemental experience. The focus remains on sneaking, hiding, avoiding guards, using gadgets etc.

While Batman: Arkham Shadow is not purely stealth, it features stealth sequences, detective work, sneaking, and using gadgets to evade or take out foes quietly. If you like atmospheric games, dramatic story, mixed combat and stealth, it’s a good pick. It also shows off what Meta Quest 3 can do in terms of visuals and immersive detail.

We couldn’t talk about stealth games in VR without mentioning the upcoming Thief VR: Legacy of Shadows. Set to launch later this year, this is the second time the Thief franchise has demonstrated what can be possible in VR. The first experience was simply a tech demo however, while Thief VR: Legacy of Shadows is one of the most high profile VR stealth games for Meta Quest 3 and PSVR 2. Can it live up to the hype? We won’t have too long to wait to find out!
