We’ve always said at XR Source that if you want to experience how immersive VR really is, play a horror game. VR horror games have the ability evoke emotions that few other genres can, and this March, Meta Quest owners will be treated to another, Cursed Echoes.

A New Horror Awaits

We’ve already been treated to a couple of VR horror games so far in 2026. Sci-fi multiplayer BlackGate left Early Access at the beginning of January, whilst Dread Meridian saw its official release last week for Quest and SteamVR. Next on the roster is Evil Inside VR, a psychological horror being ported from console and PC to PSVR 2 and Quest in February.

Expanding that list further, Cursed Echoes will be providing its own brand of psychological horror, twisting reality for players.

Cursed Echoes Gameplay

In Cursed Echoes, you’ll find yourself trapped within the walls of a house that’s never quite the same twice, resetting “with every loop” as studio Interactive 84 describes it. This is a game that challenges both your memory and your resiliency. As you explore the rooms and hallways of this haunted house, you must pay close attention to the shifting objects and the disturbing manifestations you encounter.

As you dig ever deeper, you’ll uncover a tragic narrative involving a woman who mysteriously disappeared. You eventually have to decide if a loop is clean or cursed. However, make a mistake, and it’ll have chilling consequences.

Launch Details

Cursed Echoes will be a Meta Quest exclusive, set to arrive on 15th March 2026. It’s not going to be expensive either, with pre-orders currently available for £3.99 GBP.

Whilst you wait for that game to arrive, don’t forget to take a look at our Best New VR Horror Games of 2025 to satisfy your VR horror needs.
