A couple of months ago, XRSource reported on JanduSoft, in collaboration with Bowl of Tentacles, announcing Evil Inside VR. Previously a flatscreen title, the horror game is being rebuilt for VR. Now we have a release date, with Evil Inside VR arriving early next year.

What Evil is Inside?
Evil Inside is a psychological horror initially released for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The story revolves around a chap called Mark, whose mother has recently died and his father arrested for the crime. A teenager who is now in charge of his little brother, Mark, tries to contact her, but the event goes awry, leading to a series of paranormal events that will torment him.
As Mark, players now have to explore his house, searching for missing pieces of the Ouija board that exploded when trying to commune with his dead mum. The entire game is contained within this house, which is now no longer a simple home. As players wander through the rooms and hallways, they encounter an ever-shifting house, creating a terrifying atmosphere filled with fear and hallucinations.
To Port or not to Port?
As mentioned, Evil Inside was a flatscreen game developed by JanduSoft. Utilising the skills of Bowl of Tentacles (Aimtropolis) the teams are completely rebuilding the game for VR. “It is a complete reinterpretation of the original game, with revamped gameplay systems, redesigned puzzles, new lighting, and a fully enhanced sound system,” states the developer, noting that entire sections have been redesigned.
The VR edition will also add support for standing or seated play to ensure easy accessibility.
When and Where?
The Evil Inside VR release date is now set for 5th February 2026 for PSVR 2 and Meta Quest 3 & 3S, retailing for €14.99 EUR / US $14.99 USD.
