There are a lot of VR games to look forward to in 2025. Titles like Reach, Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow and Marvel’s Deadpool VR are set to create an awesome winter lineup. Looking even further ahead, there’s one game coming in 2026 that XRSource is particularly keen to learn more about. And details for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City are going to be unveiled at New York Comic Con this week.

TMNT NYCC Panel

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City panel is taking place on Friday, October 10th, in Room 408 beginning at 12:45pm. It’ll feature Beyond Frames Entertainment CEO and TMNT: Empire City Creative Director Ace St. Germain alongside Tom Waltz, story consultant on Empire City and the writer of The Last Ronin.

They’ll be discussing the story, characters, and inspirations behind the game. Most importantly, attendees will be graced with an exclusive first look at the gameplay. Up until now, all we’ve seen are screenshots.

“Before we show Empire City to the world, we wanted to share it directly with the fans,” said Ace St. Germain in a statement. “With the Turtles’ roots in New York, there’s no better place for this special look than New York Comic Con.”

Furthermore, as an additional treat, attendees will be eligible to receive an exclusive in-game surprise at launch. Whatever this surprise is, it won’t be made available anywhere else.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: What We Know

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City was revealed earlier this year, a collaborative project between Cortopia Studios (GORN 2, Escaping Wonderland) and Paramount Game Studio. Being built specifically for VR, this action adventure will allow players to take control of either Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello or Michelangelo.

A synopsis explains: “A brotherhood in the shadows. A city on the brink. In the vacuum left by Shredder’s demise, the Foot Clan’s grip tightens on the streets you once called home. It’s time to reclaim what’s yours.”

Players will be able to explore a virtual New York using fluid parkour movements, encountering some of their favourite villains en route. As you might expect, each Turtle has a signature weapon to master, and you can even team up with friends in a four-player co-op mode!

Launch Details

At this time, we only know that TMNT: Empire City will arrive in 2026 for both Meta Quest and PCVR on Steam. A more specific launch window might be revealed during the panel discussion – especially the Q&A – so we’ll have to wait and see. Also, there’s been no mention of a PSVR 2 edition at this time.
