At the beginning of 2025, Studio Chipo y Juan, and Valem Studio released a rather intriguing whodunit called Detective VR for Meta Quest. A narrative-driven murder mystery where you play as a time-bending sleuth, Detective VR is coming to PSVR 2 and SteamVR later this year.

Detective VR Capture Evidence

Uncover an acclaimed mystery

Offering around 5 hours of story-rich gameplay, Detective VR plays out as a mixed reality adventure. Featuring six actors whose motion-captured performances bring their characters to life, you must rewind, pause, and play scenes to find hidden clues in the timeline.

Inspired by games like Immortality and films such as Minority Report, Detective VR, each of the eleven scenes must be carefully explored for those clues. You won’t simply need a keen eye; you’ll need to confront suspects and explore unreliable testimonies to find the truth.

Furthermore, Detective VR will support hand tracking on PSVR 2. Sony introduced hand tracking to the headset a little while back with a select group of games, including Waltz of the Wizard, employing the feature. Hand tracking, the studios say, is the best way to experience Detective VR, being able to collect and sort clues with your hands as you weigh up all the information. All while using your own home as a backdrop for the murder.
