Many VR studios have had great success funding their projects through crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter. The latest to do so is Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist by Resolute Games. A fantasy VR MMORPG, the game hit over $171,000 during its month-long run.

What is Eldramoor?
Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist is a VR MMORPG in a similar vein to titles like Ilysia, Zenith and OrbusVR. In fact, the Resolute Games team was founded by ex-Orbus players.
An expansive, medieval fantasy realm filled with secrets and challenges, Eldramoor allows players to find their own place in a sprawling story that spans generations. Like any good MMORPG, players will be able to extensively customise their characters before heading into the wild landscape. Become a Warrior, Mage, Monk, or Alchemist, learn to forge armour as a blacksmith, become a fisherman or hang out at the Drunken Duck tavern and play mini-games with friends. The choice is yours!
Kickstarter Success!
Initially looking to raise a rather low $25,000 USD during its Kickstarter, the campaign eventually hit $171,536. This also meant the team managed to hit all its stretch goals, including a bonfire system, a new playable species, pet abilities and more.
“We are grateful for everyone’s undying support before, during, and after the Kickstarter campaign for Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist,” says Lynn M. Souza, founder, CEO, and executive designer at Resolute Games. “More than 50 percent of Eldramoor‘s Kickstarter backers are new to crowdfunding. This is HUGE—and very meaningful to all of us. It was incredibly rewarding to watch the VR community join hands in support of our VR MMORPG. This crowdfunding campaign will go a long way toward making Eldramoor a reality in December 2026.”
What comes next?
Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist is currently slated for release on Meta Quest 3 and SteamVR in late 2026. Obviously, there’s a long way to go before that becomes a reality, and as previous VR MMORPGs have shown, this genre demands a lot of content, which can mean delays.
Whether the team will continue with further funding efforts remains to be seen. But for backers, they can look forward to a playable pre-alpha test build, a closed alpha build, and a larger closed beta as development continues.
