Xlab Digital released the original Iron Guard way back in 2021 for PCVR headsets, followed by Quest in 2022. Now the wait is almost over for its long-awaited sequel, Iron Guard: Salvation. The studio has confirmed the launch will now take place next month.

What is Iron Guard: Salvation?

Narratively, Iron Guard: Salvation is a direct sequel to its predecessor. Fighting for humanity’s survival, this time around, the battle moves beyond the original home world of Akris, with battlefronts popping up on multiple planets.

The core tower defence gameplay remains the same, of course, just enhanced for modern VR headsets. You’ll have a range of turrets to deploy and upgrade to defend each location, alongside managing resources and other factors. Unique tools such as Auto Drone Mode and hero units with unique abilities further deepen the strategic gameplay.

With IRON GUARD: Salvation, we set out to reimagine everything that made the original great—then push it further,” said Zubin Wadia, CEO and founder of Xlab Digital, in a statement. “This isn’t just a sequel. It’s a deeper, more cinematic, and more strategic experience built for the full potential of VR. Whether commanding turrets or unleashing hero powers, you’ll feel like you’re right on the battlefield.”
