Both the Meta Quest 3 and the 3S are great VR gaming headsets, offering cutting-edge VR and MR experiences. While you might be happy with them straight out of the box, there are various ways to enhance the overall user experience. One company that specialises in this is Kiwi Design, and our friends at 131XR have taken a couple of their products to review. And as it turns out, they might be worth your investment.

Accessorising your Meta Quest

The VR community have been modding and tweaking their headsets since forever. Whether it’s for aesthetic reasons or to add new functionality. Naturally, not everyone wants to do that, so third-party manufacturers like Kiwi Design have filled the gap with a range of easy-to-use accessories.

Two of Kiwi Designs’ most useful products are the G4 Pro controller grips and the K4 Boost Comfort Battery head strap. The former ensures players don’t suddenly throw their controllers across the room. The latter gives you more time to play your favourite VR games in comfort!

Kiwi Design Review

To begin with, 131XR takes a look at the G4 Pro controller grips. These are essentially rubberised covers for your controllers. You might be thinking, why would you need extra grip? However, when considering the active, physical nature of many VR games, it becomes apparent that the Meta-supplied wrist tie might not be enough. Especially when your hands get sweaty.

The Kiwi Design review by 131XR finds the grips easy to put on, and they come with a strap over the back of the hand, securing the controllers. When fully immersed, natural actions like throwing an object mean you want to let go of the controls, so having that strap is quite handy.

For most players, top of their accessory list is additional battery capacity. There’s nothing more annoying than being engrossed in the latest VR adventure to have to jump out because of a low battery. 131XR says that the K4 Boost Comfort Battery head strap should provide around another two hours of gameplay, depending on the game. Plus, with the additional padding and counterweight the battery offers, players should enjoy a more comfortable experience. Watch the full 131XR Kiwi Design review to learn more!
