Neat Corporation’s stealth series Budget Cuts was a unique gameplay experience when it first arrived in 2018. A sequel expanded the experience further, with now sneaky bow action. Back in June, both of these titles were brought together to form Budget Cuts Ultimate, for PSVR 2 and Quest headsets. Today, PCVR owners get to enjoy the bundle on Steam.
If you love bow-based shooters whilst sneaking around futuristic environments, then you’ll probably like Budget Cuts Ultimate. The package contains both games as well as the arcade mode, the mutators patch and everything else released so far.
Jampacked with stealth
Over the course of Budget Cuts 1 & 2, you’ll get to enjoy 13 stealth-based levels comprising over 10 hours worth of gameplay.
The narrative is set in a dystopian future where everyone is being replaced by robots. You work for TranCorp, a huge multinational. Then, one day as your last human co-worker is hauled away, a mysterious briefcase from someone on the outside is delivered to your desk. Determined to uncover the truth, you need to navigate the offices you’re trapped in.
You can do this in one of two ways, super quiet by climbing through air ducts and service tunnels using a unique teleportation device. Or you can choose violence, unleashing quivers of arrows, grenades, knives or whatever else you have to hand. This is an office after all so get stapling!
The gameplay can be further augmented using the Mutators. These allow you to customize your gaming experience with everything from Infinite Stabby Crystals, Locomotion Preferences, Gravity Settings, Bullet Time and more. The Arcade mode with its local high score system features 5 replayable levels, 3 difficulty settings, and a “budget calculator” scoring system. The less your mission costs the better!
Budget Cuts Ultimate is out now for PCVR, PSVR 2 and Quest 2. Let us know what you think of the bundle.
