Meta Quest features several excellent survival games, including Song in the Smoke, Green Hell VR
and Into the Radius. The latter is by CM Games, and the studio is preparing to release its sequel, with Into the Radius 2 set to hit Meta Quest this month.

Into the Radius 2 Early Access

Just as it did for the PCVR version on Steam, Into the Radius 2 will be released as an Early Access title for Meta Quest. Originally confirmed as a Quest game a few months ago, it’s worth noting that Into the Radius 2 will only be made available for Quest 3 and 3S.

Considering the ‘Very Positive’ reaction the sequel has had on Steam, hopes are high that the team can do the same on Quest.

If you’re looking forward to playing the game, there’s not long to wait. It’ll launch on 21st May 2025.

Will it feature PC parity?

However, there will be some differences between the Quest and PC versions at launch. On social media, the team notes that: “the Meta Quest version will not include the Pechorsk Outskirts location or the Distortion Zones.” The Pechorsk Outskirts are part of the Ghost Town update released in April. This was the biggest content rollout to date, adding the new map, guns, tools, enemies and more.

Thankfully, for now at least, it just the map that won’t feature. “However, all other core features added in the 0.13 update – such as customizable chest rigs, proximity voice chat in co-op, new guns, and attachments – will be present,” CM Games confirmed.

Into the Radius 2 also features a co-op mode, so you don’t have to experience this survival horror on your own. Unfortunately, PCVR and Meta Quest players won’t be able to intermingle, with no cross-play support planned.

Currently, a full release for both versions seems to be planned for 2026.

Into the Radius 2 Details

For those new to the franchise, the series takes place within the Pechorsk zone. This huge area suffered an abnormal event, dramatically altering both the landscape and what could be found within it. The games pit you as someone investigating the zone, hunting for resources, encountering anomalies and learning about what happened.

While the zone might be filled with surreal landscapes and dangerous anomalies, the gameplay retains a sense of realism. Guns handle as you would expect, needing to be manually reloaded, while your backpack needs to be managed so that you don’t become encumbered. You’re also able to craft and trade with the items you find, making each journey into the zone invaluable.
