Flatscreen to VR ports have been a popular way to add more content to platforms. Taking beloved titles – some indie, some big IPs – and giving them a dose of VR flavour. Games like Skyrim VR and Resident Evil 4 VR have seen great success, with the latest coming in the form of the action sandbox Besiege. Original developer Spiderling Studios, in collaboration with 3R Games, is set to bring Besiege VR to Meta Quest next month.

A PC Hit

Spiderling Studios released Beseige as an Early Access title for PC in 2015, with an official launch taking place in 2020. The game involves building siege engines, with players given complete freedom to create whatever they can think of. From simple catapults to tanks and even mechs, the sky is the limit! It did so well on Steam that it sold over four million copies.

The VR edition is a complete remake by 3R Games. It’ll still feature the base 50 levels of the original alongside over 70 different components to select from. The levels involve destroying castles and wiping out armies, or you can jump into one of the three sandbox environments to build freely. The only thing the VR version won’t include is the variety of expansion packs.

Additionally, if you’ve spent plenty of time building cool war machines on PC, these can mostly be transferred into VR. The studios have said that due to Meta Quest’s limitations, not all design sizes and features can be imported over.
