When Free Lives released GORN for VR headsets back in 2019, it certainly made an impression. A ludicrously violent gladiator simulator with copious amounts of blood, gamers the world over loved it. So when the studio – in partnership with Cortopia and Devolver Digital – announced a sequel, needless to say, it was well received. And soon, the wait will be over as GORN 2 is set for release later this month!

What’s new in GORN 2

The original game dropped you in a gladiatorial arena to fight waves of enemies. The main (and only) goal was to survive the ridiculous carnage. GORN 2 will, of course, continue that trend, albeit with a modern makeover and a new heavenly twist.

Yes, that’s right, the game takes place in Heaven. However, in some cruel twist of fate, all those gladiators that you slaughtered on Earth are once again served up to do battle. The sequel is filled with new weapons, new arenas, new traps, new enemies and new bosses for you to prove your battle prowess against.

Utilising its fully physics-driven combat engine, GORN 2 will supply players with a collection of 35 uniquely violent weapons, including some monstrous new additions. The campaign has five heavenly arenas to complete, with five powerful champions to vanquish.

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s the relentless non-stop onslaught of Endless Mode. Plus a Custom Mode to create your own battlefields of destruction!
