Returning to Retropolis
Peanut Button’s first entry in the saga was The Secret of Retropolis (2021), a blend of classic point-and-click adventure with immersive cinematography. Building upon the success of this, Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye expands the puzzle-solving mystery with an apocalyptic narrative set in a neon-lit world.
Meta Quest owners have been able to dabble in the world since last year. Peanut Button released an early access version of the game in mid-2023 showcasing the first episode.
The story is set a year after the events depicted in original, continuing the story of Philip Log, the hard-boiled robo-detective, and Jenny Montage, the automated femme fatale at the heart of this gritty tale.
Retropolis Gameplay
Filled with hard-boiled characters, witty dialogue, and captivating environments, Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye is filled with innovative logic puzzles. “Each puzzle is a unique masterpiece, intricately woven into the narrative, challenging players to think outside the box and employ cunning strategies to progress,” claims the developer.
You’ll have to deploy Log’s extendo-arms to collect items and clues from each location. Designed for both immersive gameplay as well as easily navigating and engaging with this hand-drawn world. All brought to life with an original electro-jazz soundtrack composed exclusively for the game.
