A number of VR titles missed their release dates in 2024, including Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate and Slender: The Arrival VR. While the former is set for a release this month, Perp Games’ and Blue Isle Studios’ horror isn’t too far away either. A VR port of the 2013 flatscreen horror, soon you can meet the Slender Man on Meta Quest, PSVR 2 and PCVR headsets.

A Slender arrival
For those that are brave enough and have no fear, Slender: The Arrival VR should provide plenty of jump scares. The original flatscreen edition from 2013 was well received by players, gaining positive reviews on Steam and the PS Store. And as we all know, VR makes horror games even scarier, putting you right in the midst of the action.
Even though this is a port, Blue Isle Studios has confirmed that this will be an: “official re-imagining and expansion of the original game, featuring a brand-new storyline, new characters, improved visuals.”
You’ll still be exploring a dark forest as protagonist Lauren. She’s searching for her missing friend Kate but ends up finding a lot more than she bargained for. The VR edition will be the third game using this storyline. The first, a short experimental project called Slender: The Eight Pages had you wandering the forest looking for those mysterious pages. The Arrival re-imagined this, adding the friends, improving the visuals whilst keeping those eight pages.

When does Slender Man appear?
Slender: The Arrival VR will go one step further, adding physical controls to immerse players in this nightmarish world. The torch plays a big role in creating the atmosphere, illuminating the dark forest – and Slender Man – in equal measure. As you may already know, Slender Man only moves when you’re not watching, so keeping that light on the creature is important.
Slender: The Arrival VR will be available this Spring for Meta Quest, PSVR 2 and PCVR headsets. An exact date has yet to be announced.
