While The Exorcist franchise might be iconic, it is not exactly known for having many decent entries. The Exorcist: Believer was the most recent film but that didn’t set the world alight. However, 2017’s The Exorcist: Legion VR was well received, with publisher Fun Train recently confirming Meta Quest 3 and PSVR 2 enhancements are on the way.
Details were revealed on Fun Train’s Discord server (spotted by Mixed News) with the team noting that “we have a couple of Exorcist Legion projects near completion.” The first to arrive will be the PSVR 2 port, said to be arriving ‘very soon’. The ‘Quest 3 Enhanced Version’ is still in progress, with the Quest 2 edition currently discounted so it might be worth picking it up now.
As for the enhancements, Fun Train says: “Both platforms will feature graphics/frame-rate upgrades, and PSVR2 has new haptic features.” The Quest 3 version will run at 120hz.
Fun Train’s roadmap
The Exorcist: Legion VR is Fun Train’s most popular VR game, originally developed by Wolf & Wood. Split over five episodes, you play a detective investigating supernatural mysteries. Inevitably leading to demonic entities and exorcisms.
A sequel called SIN (Safety in Numbers) is planned featuring co-op gameplay. However, the project has been beset with delays. Announced in 2021, a launch was expected in 2022, then 2023, and now there’s no release window. It’s being developed by The Twilight Zone VR studio Pocket Money Games.
Additionally, Fun Train has said it plans on porting all of its games to PSVR 2. So expect to hear about Tarzan VR and The Twilight Zone VR for PSVR 2 at some point.
