A couple of months ago C-Smash VRS arrived for PSVR 2, becoming an instant fan favourite in the process. Publishers RapidEyeMovers and developers Wolf & Wood previously revealed that an August update would be bringing some big new additions. That release window has moved slightly, with the C-Smash VRS co-op update now scheduled for a couple of weeks time.
To say the free content update adds some new features is a bit of an understatement. C-Smash VRS already includes single-player and competitive multiplayer modes but soon it’ll also sport co-op. That means two players playing side by side and collaborating to try and reach the highest Infinity score. Infinity is the other major addition. The mode challenges players to dodge and smash oncoming hazards while keeping the ball in play.
Smashtastic!
While both Infinity and Co-op add an even more physical, fitness element to the gameplay there are further enhancements to explore. The previously online-only Head-to-head, Firewall and Quickshot will get an AI Bot offering players a chance to train before braving multiplayer sessions. With three different difficulty settings (easy, medium, and hard) the Bot has its own characteristics and personality. It’ll even gloat when it scores a point.
A new Emote system adds a fun way to communicate with other players. This works by using your racket as a projector. And for those players looking to perfect the game a Stage Select menu gives access to every stage in the game for a chance to get an A-rank.
The C-Smash VRS update also includes:
- Journey Mode
- 40+ brand new stages
- New Block Types – Multi-Ball & Portal
- Instant Replays
- Music Player
- Player Stats
The C-Smash VRS co-op update for PSVR 2 arrives on 14th September 2023. Not only that but from now until that date, the PlayStation Store has a 25% discount available!
