Last month, publisher Perp Games announced that Decathlon Games’ Tennis On-Court would be coming to PSVR 2. Now the studio has confirmed exactly when the tennis game will be served up, set for release this October for Sony’s VR headset.
Tennis On-Court aims to cater for both casual and more serious tennis players alike. It employs two core gameplay modes, ‘Arcade’ and ‘Realistic’, as you can probably guess, if you want that simulator experience you can. So no matter if you desire that Wimbledon feeling of grass tennis or just a casual hardcourt practice, you should be well catered to.
Serving an ace this Fall
The game is full of features to achieve that ultimate tennis experience. To start with, there are fully customisable characters to create that perfect pro player. Then you have the choice of 13 rackets to suit your play style and six stadiums to realise those dreams of tennis glory.
Tennis being the active game that it is doesn’t seem suited to in-home spaces. However, Tennis On-Court features three types of locomotion; Teleport, Automatic, and Manual to aid movement around the court. As you’re doing so you may notice features to aid the realism, from the presence of umpires and linesmen to the excited crowd.
Supporting single-player matches against AI with four difficulty settings, you can also go head-to-head with friends. Online singles (1vs1) or doubles (2vs2) is supported or you can improve your skills with five training modes. Plus there’s a spectator mode to watch your friends play.
Tennis On-Court is scheduled to arrive for PSVR 2 on 20th October 2023. You can wishlist the title on the PlayStation Store now. The game is also available for Meta Quest headsets via App Lab now.
