Incuvo brought Green Hell VR to Meta Quest and PC VR headsets in 2022, but PlayStation owners have had to wait. Previously confirming a PSVR 2 launch for 2023, the end seems almost in sight. A new trailer has been doing the rounds online suggesting the launch will take place in the next few weeks.
Featuring all the markings of a PlayStation trailer, the video lists 15th August as Green Hell VR’s PSVR 2 launch date. It seems the publication of this trailer was a bit preemptive, as it’s not featured on PlayStation’s YouTube channel. Incuvo has also made no mention of the launch date on any of its social channels including Discord, which is generally quite active.
Exploring Green Hell VR on PSVR 2
If that date is correct then it means PSVR 2’s previously barren summer roster is building up nicely. Crossfire: Sierra Squad and Firewall Ultra are now confirmed for August, as well as House Flipper VR and VR Skater.
Green Hell VR is a survival adventure set within the Amazon rainforest. There to study the forest and its local inhabitants, events go awry and your colleague is abducted. So you have to venture into the inhospitable and impenetrable jungle to find them, utilising whatever resources you find along the way. Learn how to craft useful tools and weapons, forage for the right resources to stave off hunger and heal wounds. And fight predators that lurk in every shadow.
On each platform, Green Hell VR has been built slightly differently. The PC VR looks a lot better than the Quest edition, which was created to the constraints of the platform. Incuvo has said the PSVR 2 edition will be based on the Quest version, albeit with PSVR 2-specific features and graphics.
Whilst confirming earlier this year that the game was coming to PSVR 2, the studio also revealed DLC details. Called ‘The Spirits of Amazonia’, it expands the story, gameplay mechanics, and more. Furthermore, a Green Hell VR co-op mode supporting 4 players is in the works.
