The Gorgeous Hubris is Coming to PSVR 2

There are plenty of exciting PSVR 2 games coming soon for the headset, one of which is Cyborn’s Hubris. Known to be in the works for PSVR 2, the developer has recently revealed that the sci-fi adventure actually arrives this month.

When in May hasn’t actually been specified. Even so, we’ve now got confirmation that one of the best-looking VR titles going is set to delight PSVR 2 owners soon, making full use of PlayStation 5. Originally released for PC VR via Steam in December 2022, hopefully, the port should also address some of Hubris’ launch issues.

Cyborn has stated that ‘significant improvements’ have been made to the PSVR 2 version of the videogame. So players should experience ‘enhanced graphics and gameplay’. One of these improvements has been the addition of foveated rendering. Plenty of PSVR 2 games have utilised this feature, working in conjunction with the headset’s eye tracking to provide better visuals.

Hubris’ textures and models have been refined further, plus ‘the frame rate remains stable’ notes Cyborn.

On the gameplay side, Hubris will employ the DualSense controller haptics to further immerse players in the game. Every action has its own custom feedback, whether that’s shooting enemies or swimming through clear blue waters. When it comes to guns, the weight has been adjusted for an improved feel. The adaptive triggers should also make the alternative fire modes more responsive.

Then there is the revamped gun reloading mechanism, enhanced iron sights, new enemy variations, difficulty rebalancing and 3D audio capabilities. So plenty of PSVR 2 players to look forward to.

As for the PC VR edition, these improvements will eventually make it across. On Cyborn’s Discord, the developer notes: “All the changes will go back to PC VR but probably not on the same day as the PS VR 2 release as it requires a lot more testing on different headsets when it is stable enough.”
