Initially revealed in 2025, Spectral Games’ The Lightkeepers has promised some intriguing supernatural co-op gameplay. Thankfully, the studio has now confirmed when that’ll happen, hitting Meta Quest in September.

What is The Lightkeepers?
Inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, The Lightkeepers is a co-operative action game set during the 1920s. By day, players can take to the seas and sail to mist-covered islands, exploring ruins to find valuable resources. These resources are vital because once night falls, players have to battle nightmarish creatures until dawn.
Spectral Games is best known for Medieval Dynasty New Settlement, so this is certainly a step in a different direction.
Lovecraftian Gameplay
Setting off from your lighthouse base, the game is filled with randomly selected side locations full of puzzles, dungeons and useful items. Monstrous creatures appear from the ocean, and you have an arsenal of 20 weapons with which to stop them. Slash, chop, shoot, and blow them up with machine guns, mines, and grenades, whilst preparing strategic fortifications.
While The Lightkeepers is certainly action-focused, the addition of puzzles will have players thinking on their feet. Solving these will unlock the game’s mysteries,
