3R Games set a high bar for underground exploration with the release of Cave Crave for Meta Quest, PSVR 2 and SteamVR. And since then, the VR game has been continuously supported thanks to additions like the multiplayer update and the Nutty Putty location. Throughout all of this, one of the smaller side features is the ability to draw in specific locations. As you’re wandering in the dark, its easy to get lost, so you can create handy markings along the way. Now, the studio has leaned into this aspect further, launching an Art Pack DLC for Cave Crave as well as a new Paint Cave.

The Art Pack DLC
Drawing has been fairly limited in Cave Crave up to this point. But the Art Pack DLC enhances this by introducing a new creative toolkit.
These new tools include Chalk Spray and Colourful Chalk, giving you a wealth of options to create vibrant artwork in those gloomy depths. And while you’re creating that underground masterpiece, you can do so in style with a street-art-inspired glove and mask skin set.
If you’re a Cave Crave fan ‘craving’ some artistic freedom, the Art Pack DLC is available now for $6.99 USD/£5.99 GBP.
Painting with Friends
But that’s not all in 3R Games’ push to make Cave Crave more social and colourful. The team has just introduced Paint Cave to the multiplayer mode, a drawing competition.
With this free update, players can enter the Paint Cave, where they receive a drawing theme. They then have to race to an available board to create their interpretation in the allotted time. Once the time runs out, all the creations are revealed, and everyone gets to vote on their favourite.
The round then resets with a new theme, and everyone can start drawing again!
More to Come
Both the Art Pack DLC and the Paint Cave add a nice aside from the main exploratory gameplay in Cave Crave. If you have delved as far as you can, then it’s likely that you’re awaiting the next major content update in the form of Thailand’s Tham Luang. Just like Nutty Putty, Tham Luang is a real-world location 3R Games is recreating for the game.
However, while Nutty Putty is now sealed off because of the tragedy that occurred, Tham Luang isn’t. It was made famous after a local teenage football team got trapped inside in 2018. Thankfully, everyone made it out okay. For those who can’t make it all the way to Thailand, or simply like exploring from the comfort of their living room, this next update is an exciting one. At present, 3R Games hasn’t said when it’ll be available.
