JollyCo is known for its bright, colourful VR games, with Sugar Mess – Let’s Play Jolly Battle probably the most familiar to VR gamers. The studio is now gearing up to launch its next title, Sugar Madness, for Meta Quest.

Sugary VR Madness

Much like Sugar Mess, Sugar Madness is a frantic, arcade-style shooter. Where the latter differs is that it’s now on-rails (partially), plus you can team up with a friend in co-op. There’s a variety of gameplay options besides the on-rails sections, with boss encounters, mini-games and more to enjoy.

In this candy-themed adventure, you’re here to save the once-thriving Candy Kingdom from the mad genius known as Dr. Sour. The doctor’s experiments have turned the once-sweet confections into ravenous “Candymorphs.” Armed with an assortment of weird and wonderful weapons such as umball shotguns to liquorice whips, you need to put a stop to this madness.

Launch Details

Sugar Madness is scheduled for release on Meta Quest headsets on 4th June 2026. No price point has been revealed thus far.

At present, Sugar Madness is going to be a Meta Quest exclusive, as there’s been no mention of SteamVR or PCVR 2 editions.

A Sweet Jolly History

JollyCo has been making candy-inspired games for a number of years. On mobile devices you have games like Jolly Match and Jolly Battle. While in VR, there’s Sugar Mess, spin-off Sugar Mess Jigsaw Puzzles and mixed reality game Jolly Match: First MR Match-3 Puzzles. The only odd one out in all of this is Anima Flux, a metroidvania-style adventure for PC and Xbox.
