Estonian developer CM Immersive OÜ has officially launched Into the Radius 2 out of Early Access on Steam. This is a major milestone for one of the most anticipated VR survival shooters in recent years. The Into the Radius 2 1.0 update brings a wealth of new content and, most importantly, delivers a fully playable experience from start to finish, either solo or in co-op.

A Full Campaign and Expanded World

For fans of the original Into the Radius, which XRSource has previously highlighted as one of the most immersive and atmospheric survival experiences in VR, this sequel represents a significant evolution of the formula. While the first game built a reputation for its slow, methodical gameplay and eerie exclusion-zone setting, the sequel expands both scale and accessibility without losing that core identity.

The biggest addition in version 1.0 is a complete story campaign, featuring 10 unique missions supported by nine types of secondary objectives. In total, players can tackle 178 side missions, offering a substantial amount of replayability beyond the main narrative.

The world itself has also been expanded. Players will explore three main locations and two sub-locations, all connected by transit zones that gradually unlock as you progress. This structure builds on the original game’s open-ended exploration, but introduces a clearer sense of progression and pacing, which has steadily improved throughout its Early Access development.

Into the Radius 2 1.0 Adds Co-Op

One of the most requested features is now also here: co-op multiplayer. Players can now explore the Radius with a partner, complete with proximity-based voice chat for added immersion. At launch, co-op is limited to two players, but it fundamentally changes how the game can be approached.

Into the Radius 2 1.0 also significantly expands its arsenal and survival mechanics. Players now have access to 53 weapons across 25 firearm types, all of which can be customised with attachments, paint, and stencils. Weapon maintenance also returns, reinforcing the series’ signature focus on realism.

A Major Step Forward for VR Survival

With its transition out of Early Access, Into the Radius 2 builds on the foundations of its predecessor while introducing co-op, a full campaign, and expanded systems. XRSource will continue to follow the game’s post-launch updates, but for now new players can enjoy a 33% launch discount until the end of April 2026.
