Last summer, XRSource reported on French developer VR Studio LDLC announcing a new brawler called TaVRn’s Takedown. Set in the cult-favorite Naheulbeuk universe, TaVRn’s Takedown is getting ready to fight its way onto Meta Quest and SteamVR this March.

A Bar Fight Awaits
In a similar vein to games like Drunkn Bar Fight and Haymaker, TaVRn’s Takedown is a beat’em up set in a series of, you’ve guessed it, taverns. However, because TaVRn’s Takedown in the comedic world of Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon, the atmosphere and gameplay are far more light-hearted.
Set in the city of Mliuej, you have to save it by cleaning up each and every tavern in town. And the only way to do this is with your fists, and anything else you can get your hands on that isn’t fixed in place. Punch humans in the face, smack goblins in the head with barstools and generally cause chaos in each brewery you wander into.
And maybe grab a beer while you’re at it.
A Brief Naheulbeuk History
As mentioned, TaVRn’s Takedown is set in the world of Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon, created in 2001 by John Lang. Originally a satirical audio series that followed a group of adventurers in a parody of fantasy role-playing games, the franchise has gone on to spawn countless videogames, comics and novels. All maintain the absurd humour and spicy dialogue fans know and love.
Launch Details
VR Studio LDLC has yet to specify a specific launch date for TaVRn’s Takedown – Naheulbeuk, just that it’ll take place in March 2026. The game is available to wishlist on Steam, with the Meta Quest edition available to pre-order now.
